Father Loses his Wife but Saves Daughter after having to Make Choice of Who Gets to Live.

A man had to make a choice between saving his wife’s, or saving his daughter’s life.

Frederick Connie, who was left devastated after making an impossible choice, lost his wife after what should have been the happiest day of his life.

His wife, Keyvonne Connie had gone into labor early labor and began hemorrhaging inside their home in Littleton, Colorado. Keyvonne wasn’t supposed to give birth until Mid January of next year.

He rushed his wife to the hospital, and was met with doctors who gave him the impossible choice. The wife had to go into surgery as she was dying, and so was the baby, who quickly needed to be rescued.

They left Frederick with the consent of choosing who they were going to save.

Frederick recalled:

‘It was either give her the surgery first that may save her life, but you’re going to lose your daughter, or your daughter can be saved but there’s a chance you might lose your wife,’

Frederick says he knew how his wife felt about children, and he deeply knew that she would’ve wanted her child to be saved.

Frederick said:

“I’m glad I made that decision because in the end if Keyvonne probably could have survived, she would have hated me for the rest of my life,’

Keyvonne had survived the C-Section, and was able to see her daughter as she was being taken out, and minutes later, Keyvonne died.

Frederick said:

‘Literally all of her insides just went all over the bed and floor.  They tried [to save her] and her heart couldn’t take it. She died before they could even get her to surgery.’

I gave her her mom’s name, She’s going to know her mom. I’ll make sure of that.

Frederick is currently in debt, is struggling, and will begin planning Keyvonne’s funeral only after the baby has come home.

Federick said,

‘I’m the only man to ever have a room in the labor and delivery. The mothers there said it was okay.

I’m a foster child myself you know. I don’t know my parents real well. For Pooder to have me is a big deal.

‘I’m financially not okay. This debt is piling up and I have to bury my wife, my daughter coming into the world, it’s so high right now.’

Frederick started a Fundraiser on facebook to try and get some help for the tragic day that he had to face, and the countless problems he’ll be facing with his debt and finances, and the funeral and taking care of the child.
